Marjorie Elaine May, age 86, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ryan Stebeck officiating.

Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

Marjorie was born on September 21, 1931 in Beaumont, Texas. She married William Douglas May on September 3, 1950 in Beaumont, Texas. She worked for the Department of Human Services as a caseworker for the Aged & Disabled for many years before retiring.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Marjorie loved her family above all else. She gave unconditional love to all.

Her flowers and her yard were her second passion. Every spring was a blessing for her to be able to buy flowers and plant and enjoy them. She loved the Lord and is now resting peacefully in his presence.

She is survived by five sons, Douglas May and wife Gloria of Midland, Texas, David May and wife Susan of Lubbock, TX; Wesley May and wife Dryden of Austin, Texas; Jeffrey May and wife Bette of Idaho; and Bradley May and wife Mary of Austin, Texas; two daughters, Wanda Gonzales of Sweetwater, Texas, and Carol Bronson and husband Keith of Abilene, Texas; grandchildren; Brian Patton and his wife Susan; Karin Patton; Lisa Gonzales; Ryan Douglas May; Lindsey May and husband Adam Royall; Abbi May; Cameron May; Kacey Hefner and her husband Brandon; Mary May; Ryan Andrew May; Justin Roden and wife Micah; Tyler Roden and wife Morgan; and Gracie Bronson; great grandchildren, Devin Gutiterez, J.P. Gutierrez, Camden Hefner, Kinsey Hefner, Bailey Patton, Reagan Williams, Brynn Williams, Kaitlynn Patton, Blake Patton, Jonah Royall, and Genevieve Royall. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Douglas May; her parents, two daughters, Janet Maxwell, and Martha Nazworth. Pallbearers will be Justin Roden, J.P. Gutierrez, Brian Patton, Cameron May, Blake Patton, and Ryan Douglas May.

Honorary pallbearers will be Devin Gutierrez and Tyler Roden.
