A resident of Huntington Common, she had been in hospice care since June. Marjorie was born on February 6, 1929 to Lucy Hilda Beatty and Donald Jordan Foster of Raymond, ME.

An only child, she grew up surrounded by her extended family, and starting at a young age worked alongside her mother and grandmother in their family business, the House that Jack Built in Raymond Village. She studied piano and dance and performed regularly, a local Shirley Temple. At 12, she drove to Portland in a car given to her by her father and got a driver’s license (in that order!

She married NYA classmate Donald A. Richardson in 1951 and moved to Boston where he started his career as an engineer with Sylvania.

They had four children, moving frequently as Don was transferred to locations across the country. Marge worked part time while raising the children, who enjoyed creative and entertaining adventures with their fun-loving mother. Summers, they enjoyed vacationing at their family camp on Crystal Lake in Gray.

After Don’s retirement, the couple travelled widely and spent winters at their home in New Port Richey, Florida and summers in Maine. Marge enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, baking and making beautiful quilts and knitted items for family members and friends. Since 2016, Marge and Don have resided at Huntington Common in Kennebunk, ME.
