Marjorie (Onorato) “Margie” Caruso, 96, of Fletcher, died Friday, November 9, 2018, at Park Ridge Hospital. Born in Manhattan, NY, she was the wife of the late Edward Caruso, who died December 6, 2004. She was the daughter of the late Angelo and Angelina (Vagliardo) Onorato.

She was also preceded in death by a niece whom she raised as a daughter, Valerie (Onorato) Vitolo, a granddaughter, Emma Olivia Caruso, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters. She attended Immaculate Conception Church, Hendersonville. Margie loved to dance and was a New York City Rockette and then danced in a “sister team” with her best friend Seraphine “Phinnie” DeMarco.

She attended dance school with Tony Bennett, and they were taught by May Homer. Margie attended Julia Richmond High School with Lauren Bacall. An amazing cook, she loved to prepare homemade Italian dinners for family and friends.

Her daughter Marjorie and daughter-in-law Michelle are the proud recipients of her recipes. People were naturally drawn to Margie because of her bright smile and bubbly personality. She impacted the lives of those she met and always showed them unconditional love.

She will be missed by those whose lives she touched. Margie is survived by her children, Robert E. Caruso and his wife Michelle of Mills River and Marjorie A. Caruso of Manhattan, NY; 2 grandchildren, Shelby Ann Caruso of Charlotte and Molly Leigh Caruso of Sumter, SC; and a godson, Steve Foti of England. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church, Hendersonville.

Family and friends will be received from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Groce Funeral Home, 72 Long Shoals Rd. , Arden. The Rosary will be recited at 5:00 PM.
