Mark Edward Harden September 19, 1963 – May 24, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Mark Edward Harden, 55, of Manteca, CA, formerly of Marseilles, IL, passed away May 24th at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, Palo Alto, CA after a brief battle with lung cancer. Cremation rites have been accorded. A grave side service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 29 at Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles with Rev.

Alvin D. Dial officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Marseilles Honor Guard. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Mark was born September 19, 1963, in Ottawa to the late Thomas and Bernice (Cooper) Harden. Mark attended Marseilles High School and joined the US Navy in 1981. Mark was very proud of his service to our country.

He first served on the USS Waterford in New London, CT and later on the USS Robison in San Diego, CA. Mark worked as a welder most of his life, a trade he first learned in high school and continued when he joined the Navy. He was very proud that he had a part in welding the stadium structures for both the Minnesota Vikings (US Bank Stadium) and the Sacramento Kings (Golden One Center) and the new Apple building in Cupertino, CA.

Mark loved music and attended many concerts in his lifetime. When he was younger, he loved playing darts and played on many different leagues through the years. When at home he would often be found outside puttering around in the yard or playing with his beloved dogs.

Mark is survived by his daughter, Rieanna (Patrick) Morales of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; his son, Joshua of LaSalle; a brother, Russell (Sue) of Peru; a sister, Peggy (David) Moore of Ottawa; 3 grandchildren, Talia & Adrian Morales and Kale Harden; the one true love of his life Paula Noel Gulbronson of Manteca, CA; and his beloved dogs Bella & Cowboy. Mark was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Delmar & Flossie Hardin, and Alma Balcom; and his best friend and beloved dog Noah. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Veterans Homeless Program.
