Mark Frederick Pankow , September 25, 1959 — January 07, 2019

Mark F. “Panks” Pankow, 59, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly early Monday afternoon, January 7, 2019, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky. Born on September 25, 1959, in Sandusky, OH the son of Melvin Wilson “Bubby” and Carol Maxine (Burrows) Pankow. He was a 1978 graduate of Sandusky High School.

Mark had worked for nearly 40 years at MetalTek International (formerly Sandusky Foundry and Machine Co.) as a very skilled and experienced machinist. He will be remembered by his family as being very handy and one that loved to work with his hands no matter the project. Mark was a true naturalist, he loved being outdoors, either working in the yard or going on walks.

He also took exercising very seriously, as a longtime member of the YMCA, and he could be seen quite often running the streets of Sandusky to help him unwind. . Mark also enjoyed gatherings with friends and family for cookouts and other activities, like a good concert.

In his earlier days, he was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where he and his wife, Deborah, were married on July 16, 1988. Mark is survived by his wife of 30 years, Deborah B. “Debbie” (Burns) Pankow; two sons, James F. (Jeddahlyn) Pankow and John D. Pankow; a sister, Carolyn Pankow; a brother, Mel (Michel Le) Pankow; and a niece, Morgan. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019, from 4-7 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning, January 12, 2019, at 11 am at the funeral home. Rev.
