Marlene Dolores Schmidt Bybee, 87, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018. She was the daughter of Walter F. and Johanna Schmidt. She was born on February 22, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She married Dale M. Bybee June 11, 1949; they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple June 19, 1961. They had 3 children; Darryl, Marlana and Larry. She graduated from Nampa High School and went on to attend Idaho State University, and a business school in Spokane.

She and her husband Dale M. Bybee owned their own business, Bybee Enterprises, selling engraved glassware, grandfather clocks and sold orthotics for 30 years in trade shows, malls and fairs. She loved music, had a beautiful voice and sang solos starting at the age of 13. When she lived in Portland, Marlene sang with Metropolitan Singer, Anna Moffo in the Opera in Portland, Oregon.

Marlene was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -day Saints. She held many positions in the church throughout her life. She had the calling of Activity Director, putting on road shows and drama productions in the church.

She was a choir director with the youth, and ward choirs on ward and stake levels. Marlene was a loving wife. She and Dale were married for over 66 Years.

She was always so kind and was loved by so many. She loved people and was devoted to her family and many friends. Marlene is survived by her three children, Dr. Darryl (Vicki) Bybee, Marlana Louise Hillary, and Dr. Larry W. (Penny) Bybee.

She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, and 51 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale M. Bybee; her parents; and her grandson, Tyler Bybee. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 2 pm at the LDS church, 4600 Victory Ave.

Chubbuck, ID 83202, with a viewing on Friday, July 13, 2018 from 6-8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello, ID, as well as one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S. 5th Ave.
