Marta’s Obituary Marta S. Martinez, 81, of Laredo, Texas, entered the gates of heaven on February 10, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born on September 02, 1937 in Hebbronville where she grew up. She later moved to Laredo where she raised her family.

Marta was a dedicated mother and grandmother who loved her grandchildren dearly. She embraced every milestone in their lives, and found pleasure in partaking in all of their highlights and achievements. She was preceded in death by her son, Gerardo Javier Martinez, parents: Ignacio and Maria Salazar, and her sister Graciela Munoz.

Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Monica M. (Timothy Jr.) Sharkey and Rebecca R. (Edgar) Rodriguez; her six grandchildren: Meagan, Hannah, Timothy III, Lauren Sharkey and Nicolas and Diego Rodriguez; her sister, Rosa M. Salazar; her brother, Francisco Jesus Salazar; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. Please join us in celebrating her life on Thursday morning, February 14, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd. ; where a Rosary will be recited at 11 a.m. Funeral procession will depart at 12 p.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to St. Patrick Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. Msgr.

James Harris will be the celebrant. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Nicolas D. Rodriguez, Timothy A. Sharkey III, Diego R. Rodriguez, Javier Salazar, Javier Muñoz, Guadalupe Saenz III, Oscar O. Martinez Jr., and Enrique Benavides III.
