OBITUARY Martha Ann Legg October 10, 1938 – July 13, 2018 Martha Ann Legg, (Brumley) 79, of Conroe, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 13, 2018 with her son Craig and daughter Brenda by her side. Martha Ann, also known as “Poppy”, was born on October 10, 1938 in Mansfield, Louisiana to missionary Baptist preacher, Christopher Lee Brumley and his wife Martha Viola. Poppy took pride and dignity in her long life here on earth.

Her smile and sense of humor could brighten up a room, and being in her presence was nothing short of heartwarming. Her fondest times were spent with her family, She would open her heart and her immaculate house to anyone, as long as they kept it clean. She made the BEST peach cobbler in the world, and she never let anyone leave her house hungry.

She loved to feed everyone and then have them sit together and “catch up”, telling stories from the past about the day she married the love of her life Glen Legg, about the times she spent baking with her granddaughters at her lake house in Riverside, about playing many games of penalty, and about watching Glen, also known as “Paps or Big Guy”, fish with their grandkids on the dock, and she would say, “Do you remember that? ” When she wasn’t cooking, baking, or telling stories while rocking in her chair, you could find Poppy loving on her eleven great-grandchildren. She was so proud of each and every one of them.

She never met a stranger, and everywhere she went she told people about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her son Craig and her daughter Brenda, and was so proud of everything her family has accomplished. Martha Ann was a proud mom and a proud grandma.

She has been reunited with her loving husband in Heaven, but she will be dearly missed by many here on Earth. Like she always said, “I will see you at Jesus’s feet”. Martha Ann is survived by her brother Bobby Brumley and his wife Sarah; her son Steven Craig Jeffcoat and daughter Brenda Jeffcoat Gholston; her six loving grandchildren: Kandy Trotter and her husband Bryan, Kayla Forehand and her husband Travis, Katlin Jeffcoat and his wife Claire, Brandi Holland, Caleb Gholston and his wife Kelly, and Payton Gholston; her eleven precious great grandchildren: Karson, Kandon, and Karly Trotter, Kaden, Kyler and Kooper Forehand, Keaton and (soon to be baby sister) Korlee Jeffcoat, Cambre Johnson, Aubrey and Nolan Rodrigue, and Madison Buckley.

Martha Ann was preceeded in death by her husband of 42 years, Glen Otto Legg; her parents Christopher Lee and Martha Viola Brumley; her brothers Leon, Ed, and Ray; and her firstborn son, Norman Keith Jeffcoat, who she was very anxious to see at Heavens gates. Martha Ann will be laid to rest at Brookside cemetery on Thursday July 19th, 2018. The viewing will be held at 9:00AM with the service to follow at 10:00AM.
