Martha E. Moore, lifelong resident of Central Lake, died peacefully, June 24, 2018. She was born February 8, 1938 in Echo Township, the daughter of Christopher and Catherine (Weisler) Hebden and graduated from Central Lake High School in 1956. Martha retired from Dura Automotive after 42 years of dedicated service.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxillary 6985 and enjoyed playing bingo. She loved playing softball and was instrumental in starting the summer softball program in Central Lake 50 years ago. She also enjoyed bowling.

On October 6, 1956 she married Paul “Mike” Moore who preceded her in death. Also proceding her in death were her parents, her daughter Suzanne in 1957, her brothers Roy and James Hebden, sister Margaret Murphy, soon to be son-in-law Troy Schroeder, sister-in-law Frances Hebden, and brothers-in-law Robert Chaney and James Lambert. Surviving Martha are her daughters Connie K. Spence of Swartz Creek, Theresa L. (David) Knoch of Central Lake, Kathy L. (Stephen) Janeczek of East Jordan, brothers Christopher and John (Ruthann) Hebden, sisters Betty Chaney, Louise (Douglas) Bergman, Dorothy (Larry) Drenth, brothers-in-law Maurice Murphy and Patrick Moore, sister-in-law Nancy Lambert, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Friday, June 29, at 11 a.m. at Southern Cemetery, Central Lake. Memorial contributions can be given to the Herrick Athletic Fund. Arrangements have been handled by the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
