Martha J. Chilcote – Roose, 94, of Monroeville, IN, formerly of Berne; passed away at 4:00 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2018 at Adams Heritage in Monroeville. She was born July 23, 1923 in Van Wert, Ohio, to the late Harry K. and Nellie (Hanafeld) Miller. Martha retired from CTS in Berne, IN after 28 years, after which she worked in retail and food service.

She formerly attended Ohio City United Methodist and Wesleyan United Church in Van Wert, OH. She loved to be pampered and spoiled by getting manicures and her hair done, but most of all, Martha treasured the time spent with her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her children: Gary (Kristine) Chilcote of California; David Chilcote of Fort Wayne, IN; Barbara (Jae Olivo) Sauerwine of Decatur; Linda Chilcote of Fort Wayne, IN; 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husbands, Warren G. Chilcote & David Roose; son, Robert Chilcote; and sisters, Helen Barbara Trippy & Margaret Miller. Funeral service will be held at 3PM Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Mike Wertenberger presiding.

Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
