Beloved wife, devoted mother, and doting grandmother, Martha Moneta (Russell) Stephens, was united with her Lord and Savior on March 1st, 2019 at the age of 88, and was reunited with her husband on his 94th birthday. Martha was born on October 16th, 1930 to Leslie and Ruby (Jewell) Russell in Hickman County, Kentucky. She married the love of her life, James Thomas Stephens, Jr. on June 5, 1949.

Together they owned and operated Jim Stephens Farm Equipment in Clinton, Kentucky from 1960 until 1981. Martha was a devout Christian, and she spread the Gospel and love of Jesus until she no longer had the strength to speak. She was a long time member of Oakton Baptist Church where she served for 50 plus years as the church secretary; a member of the Eastern Star chapter in Clinton, KY where she held several different offices over the years – with her highest honor being the Worthy Matron; and was a den mother for the Cub Scouts in Clinton, KY.

Martha is survived by 3 sons, James Thomas Stephens III of Paducah, KY, Randy (Connie) Stephens of Mayfield, KY, and John Kevin (Jo Carol) Stephens of Bloomfield, KY; 4 grandchildren, Scott (Gina) McGee of Paducah, KY, Derek (Erin) Stephens of Lexington, KY, Emily (Joshua) Stephens Mullins of Paducah, KY, and Heath (Diahnna) Hicks of Hickory, KY; and several great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Leslie and Ruby Russell, her husband James Thomas Stephens, Jr. , two brothers; James and Morris Russell, and her great grandson Landon James Stephens. Funeral services for Martha Stephens will be held at 11:00 on Monday March 4th with Bro.

Charles Blair and Bro. Jerry Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery.

Friends may call on Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 1:00-4:00 at the Brown Funeral Home in Clinton.
