Martha’s Obituary Martha Oletha Harper, 67, of Big Rapids, was promoted into her heavenly home on Thursday, January 17, 2019. She was born November 21, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Charles and Beverly Jean (Rice) Harper. Martha was a member of the Big Rapids Salvation Army where she worshiped and offered ministry of vocal music.

She is survived by her three children, Jerry Harper, Joe (Beth Osterberg) Harper, and Tamara Bennett; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Melba Winwright, Patrisha Harper, Jerrine Harper, Sandra Harper, and Dana Velting; and many nieces and nephews. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Jane Guldi, her brother Charles Harper, and a nephew Greg Didasklo. Funeral service for Martha will be at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the Big Rapids Salvation Army, with Envoys Ed and Theresa Hoskins officiating.

Her family will greet friends at the church , 325 Linden, St., Big Rapids, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Martha’s family to assist with her final expenses.
