Martha Pizzoli May 24, 1924 – February 14, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mount Carmel – Martha Pizzoli, 94, died Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Mount Carmel Senior Living Center. Born in Atlas on May 24th, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Victor and Amelia (Dona) Postal. She was educated at Woodrow Wilson Elementary School in Atlas and attended Mount Carmel Twp High School.
She was employed as a seamstress at Humberland Garment Factory. She was married March 16, 1963 in Shamokin to the late Mario Pizzoli who preceded her in death December 3,1984. Martha was a member of Divine Redeemer Church, formerly St. Paul’s Church in Atlas.
She was member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and an active member of the Paulanarians and the Atlas Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed vacationing in Florida and eventually lived there for 5 years. Survivors include her son Martin Bridi of VA, two step daughters, Matilda Sarisky and her husband Thomas of Myerstown; Betty Jean Bush and her husband Jim of Atlas; four grandsons Thomas Sarisky and his wife Margarete of VA, David Sarisky of PR, James Bush and his wife Michelle of Elizabethtown and Robert Bush and his wife Megan of Atlas; four granddaughters Susan Jones and her husband James of Annville, Rochelle Hartwell or Atlas, Mary Ellen Borich and her husband Joseph of Stonington and Deby Dzoiadz of Hometown; 13 great grandsons, 4 great granddaughters, one great great grandson and 3 great great granddaughters as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her son Victor Bridi, a stepson Ronald “Mike” Pizzoli and his wife Michelle, a stepdaughter Mary Ellen Slotterback and her husband Charles and a grandson Charles Slotterback Jr. FUNERAL NOTICE Martha Pizzoli, 94 of Mount Carmel – Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 11:00 am at Divine Redeemer Church, 300 West Avenue, Mount Carmel with Father Ryan Fischer, officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Mount Carmel Township. Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 9:00 – 10:45 with Transferal Prayers at 10:00 am in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 27 North Vine Street, Mount Carmel, C.J. Lucas IV, Supervisor.
