OBITUARY Martha Ward Chapman August 8, 1920 – July 13, 2018 WEST COLUMBIA – Martha Ward Chapman, passed on to dwell with the Lord on July 13, 2018. Born on August 8, 1920 in Zebulon, NC, she was the daughter of the late Robert Earl Ward and Clyde Holloway Ward. Martha was the loving wife of 54 years to the late William Paul Chapman.

She was also predeceased by her two brothers, Robert Earl Ward, Jr. and William Seaton Ward. Her surviving family includes daughters, Gail Chapman Banks (Robert L.) and Betsy Chapman Stevenson (William G.); grandchildren, Nicole Crosby Lanich (Geromy), Kensey Stevenson Elder (Brad) Martha Stevenson Rabon (Coby); step-grandchildren, Ryan Banks, Jordan Banks Stafford (Roger); great-grandchildren, Grayson Lanich, Joe Allen, Lauren Elder, Cole Elder, Cobin Rabon, Pressley Jane Rabon, and twins, Rylin and Taylor Stafford, as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Salem United Methodist Church, 1321 Salem Church Rd, Irmo, SC 29063, on Monday, July 16, 2018, at 10:15 a.m., with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 237, Ballentine, SC 29002, or to Still Hopes Residents Assistance Fund, 1 Still Hopes Drive, West Columbia, SC 29169. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo, is assisting the family.
