Mrs. Martha Glenn Whatley Martin, of Phenix City, Alabama , died Sunday, September 23, 2018. She was eighty-two years old. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Skipperville United Methodist Church with Reverend Bradley Chamblee officiating.

Interment will follow in Skipperville Community Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Thursday in the church from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Mrs. Martin was born December 31, 1935 in Skipperville, Alabama to the late Grady Cadmus Whatley and Madie Maudell Baker Whatley.

Her sister, Constance Whatley Duncan and brother, Baker Whatley preceded her in death. She lived in and around Skipperville with her beloved grandparents, Richard and Dora Baker, during the early years of her life. She was a Christian and loved to study and teach the Bible.

She served in several areas of church ministry at Trinity United Methodist Church in Phenix City and later at North Highland Assembly of God in Columbus, Georgia. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Vickie Martin Garrard (Bill) of Peachtree City, Georgia; one grandson, Martin Slocumb (Karla) of Smyrna, Georgia; sister-in-law, Janet Whatley; brother-in-law, Forrest Ford Duncan; and cousin, Marlo Baker Bixby (Bill). The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Skipperville Community Cemetery, 3489 County Road 50, Ozark, Alabama 36380 as this is the final resting place for Martha many generations of her beloved family.
