Obituary for Marvin Dale Davis Marvin Dale “Shorty” “Shortround” Davis, 69, passed from this life on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at his home in Moss Point, Mississippi. Lance Corporal Davis was a Vietnam Veteran, Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 2nd Platoon. In Combat, he received numerous decorations for his courage, which included the Purple Heart.

His favorite pastime was spending time and money on his grandchildren. They were his life! He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Walter William “Bud” Davis and Gladys Lovella Eubanks Davis; brothers, Leon Davis and William Rudolph Davis; sisters, Vada Marie Shiflet, Melba Davis; and a grandson, Jacob Michael Duke.

Mr. Davis is survived his loving wife of forty-eight years, Mary Ann Pierce Davis; daughters, Michelle Davis (Steven Stewart), Alicia Davis (Phil Paslawsky); sons, Sean Davis (Pamala Davis), Tim Davis (Alisha Adcox); grandchildren, Jordan Duke, Caleb Davis (Christal Williams), Hunter Davis, Gabe Davis, Chase Davis, Natalie Davis; great-grandson, Legend Williams Davis, his little “Jar Head”; brothers, Jackie Davis (Betty), Andrew Davis, Allen Davis (Patsy) and David Davis; Sisters, Etta Faye Davis, Elma Davis, Lavania Hammond, Dena Kay Davis, Maxine Sylvester (Wilmer Dan) and Elsie Tarver (Dan). Visitation will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 12:00 until 1:00pm at Holder-Wells Coastal Funeral Home 12800 Hwy 613 Moss Point, Mississippi 39562. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm from the funeral home chapel with Rev.

Jackie Davis officiating. Entombment will follow at Serene Memorial Gardens in Moss Point with full military honors rendered by the United States Marine Corps. Serving as pallbearers will be Caleb Davis, Clay Davis, Hunter Davis, Jordan Duke, Chase Davis and Gabe Davis.

Friends and family may share condolences at www. coastalfuneralhome.net. Immediately following the graveside services, the Davis family would like to invite family members and friends to a gathering to be held at Escatawpa Baptist Church, 7101 Hwy 613 Moss Point, Mississippi 39563.
