Mary A. Jones, 82, of Milan, died Monday, March 4, 2019 at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island. Services will be 11 am Friday at South Park Presbyterian Church, Rock Island, where visitation will be from 10 am until service time. The committal service and burial will take place at 2:30 pm Friday at East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg.

Memorials may be made in care of South Park Presbyterian Church, Rock Island. Mary was born in Galesburg, Ill. on May 19, 1936, a daughter of Floyd and Winona Folger Frakes.

She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1954. Mary married Norman “Kent” Jones on October 8, 1961 in Galesburg. Mary worked over forty years for the Rock Island County Office of Illinois Human Services, formerly the Department of Public Aid and retired in 1997 as the administrator.

Mary was an active member of South Park Presbyterian Church, Rock Island, where she served as a deacon and session member. She was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for women. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Norman “Kent” Jones, Milan; brother, Dale Frakes, Little Rock, Ark.

; and nephews, Bradley (Stephanie) Frakes and Rick Frakes. She was preceded in death by her parents.
