Obituary for Mary Anne Bauman Mary A. Bauman, age 95 of Columbus, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Worthington Christian Village. She was born on August 31, 1922 to the late John and Kathryn Novak in Canton. Mary worked for the Naval Ordnance and the Red Cross in World War II and as a secretary until her children were born.

She loved music, poetry, English literature, needlepoint and gardening. Mary’s sweet smile and sense of spirit will be missed by us all. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Paul, to whom she was married for 62 years; sisters, Amelia Augustine and Margaret Machuga; and brother, John Novak.

Mary is survived by her sisters, Helen Efanti of Canton, OH and Norma (Robert) Raus of Newport Beach, CA; brother, Donald Novak of Akron, OH; son, Rick Bauman of San Francisco, CA; daughter, Joanie Bauman of Westerville, OH; and many nieces and nephews. Mary’s family will receive friends at the Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home in Worthington on Thursday, July 26 from 4:30 – 6:30 pm, followed by a prayer and blessing at 6:30 pm. A committal service will also be conducted in the mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery in Canton on Friday, July 27 at 1:00 pm, followed by the burial.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mary’s name to Worthington Christian Village (165 Highbluffs Blvd, Worthington, OH 43235). The family would like to thank the staff of Worthington Christian Village for their wonderful care, as well as the residents who were so friendly and welcoming to her. OhioHealth Hospice is also appreciated for their support during Mary’s brief time under their care.
