Mary B. “Molly” Griggs, 90, of Loyalsock, died Thursday, March 7, 2019 at her son’s home in Cogan Station. Molly was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Wilbur S. Griggs, on February 23, 2010. Born January 8, 1929 in Aberdeen, Scotland, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Isabella (Urquhart) McArthur.

Molly worked as a legal secretary and then at Loyalsock High School as a cafeteria baker. She was a member of Faxon- Kenmar United Methodist Church. Molly enjoyed gardening, knitting and traveling.

Surviving are her children; Stan Griggs (Dee) of Cogan Station, Heather Thomas (Don) of Amarillo, TX, and Karen Hackenberg (Russell) of Pittsburgh, six grandchildren; Heather Griggs, Shannon Boyles, Megan Kelley, Lori Straw, Rusty Hackenberg, and Jill Hackenberg, and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Molly was preceded in death by her three siblings; Robert McArthur of York, England, Mabel Grieves of Alford, Scotland and Sandy McArthur of Adelaide, Australia. A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, March 12 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport, followed by a funeral service at 12 p.m. to honor the life of Molly.

Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery.
