Obituary for Mary Don Carrier Mary Don Carrier, age 91, of Bluff City, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 7, 2018 from the Johnson City Medical Center. Mary Don was born in Bluff City, Tennessee on January 26, 1927 to the late William C. Fleenor and Mettie McClelland Fleenor. She lost her mother when she was 9 months old and was raised by her sweet Aunt Blanche and Uncle Charlie Latture.
She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Lester Carrier, after 52 years of marriage; her son, H.L. Chip Carrier; her brothers, W. C. Bill Fleenor and wife Harriet Gray Fleenor, Joe Ike Fleenor; a sister, Leah Fleenor Green and husband Joe Green; her mother-in-law, Azlene Hicks Carrier; sisters-in-law, Mary Lee Carrier Nidiffer and husband Ray and Evelyn Carrier Fleming and husband Charles; and a brother-in-law, Jack Green. Mary Don retired as an inspector at Raytheon Corporation and was a member of Bluff City Baptist Church- where she faithfully taught in the nursery for 45 years and the Primary Class for 16 years. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Craig Morrell; granddaughter, Amy Morrell Goodman and husband Ken; grandson, Wade Morrell and wife Jennifer; great grandchildren, Connor and Caden Goodman, Rylee Kate Morrell, Mia Goodman and Mally Morrell.
She was so proud to be their great grandmama; her sister, Martha Fleenor Green; a daughter-in-law, Rose Carrier and her children, Luke, Lauren and grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great great nieces and nephews also survive. A service to celebrate the life of Mary Don Carrier will be conducted at 6:00 PM on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Bluff City Baptist Church in Bluff City, Tennessee with Pastor Mike Carrier and Pastor Jerry Lyons, officiating.
Music will be under the direction of Kathy Beckner. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the church, prior to the service on Sunday. The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 10, 2018 in the Morning View Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Wade Morrell, Ken Goodman, Caden Goodman, Connor Goodman, Rylee Kate Morrell, Mia Goodman and Mally Morrell. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 AM on Monday. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to Bluff City Baptist Church, 244 Main Street, Bluff City, TN 37618.
