Mary Dunne, 80, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2019 in Louisville, KY with her family by her side. She was born on March 15, 1938 to the late John and Elizabeth Keating in Charleville, County Cork, Ireland. She attended nursing school in Ireland, where she also started her career as a nurse.

Following a move to New York, she worked as a nurse at St. Vincent’s Hospital, where she met William Dunne. Mary and William married, had two children and moved several times before settling in Tullahoma, Tennessee. She enjoyed gardening and sewing.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents; and her sister, Kathleen Reidy. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sharon (Brent) Dunne Gillies, John (Carol) Dunne; grandchildren, Ollie Dunne Gillies, Orla Dunne Gillies, and Binyam Dunne; sisters, Teresa (Seamus) White, Susan Keating, Eileen Keating; and brother, John Keating; and nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, March 20 at 10 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Louisville.

Ratterman Funeral Home in St. Matthews is entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Mary Dunne please visit our Sympathy Store.
