Obituary for Mary Edith House Mary Edith Embry House, 84, of Caneyville, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at home surrounded by family. Her husband, Leonard E. House, preceded her in death in October 2010. They were married December 16, 1950.

Mrs. House was born in Caneyville on February 6, 1934 to Harrison and Una Higgs Embry. She was a seamstress and a member of the Caney Creek United Baptist Church. Survivors include: her daughter, Sherry House Dolen, a brother, Charles L. Embry, three grandchildren, Michael Cook, Perry Cook and Amy Dolen, and four great-grandchildren, Damien, Brooklyn, Austin and Chael Cook, all from Caneyville.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. House was preceded in death by three brothers, Wavie, Gordie and James Embry, and three sisters, Myrtle Garber, and Madeline and Dorothy Embry. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, November 17, at the Caneyville Memorial Chapel, 201 E Maple Street in Caneyville, with Bro. Lennie Hogan officiating.

Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, November 16, and on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of services. Burial will be at the Caney Creek Cemetery. Caneyville Memorial Chapel is honored and privileged to have been entrusted with the care of Mrs. House.
