OBITUARY Mary Eileen Holt July 23, 1924 – October 18, 2018 Ms. Mary Eileen Holt, 94, died October 18, 2018. Loving Mother of Stephen Thomas Holt and dedicated wife of the late Thomas R. Holt “T. R”, Ms. Holt was born July 23, 1924 to Thomas and Sarah Wynne.

A first-generation American, she grew up in the Bronx, New York, worked for AT&T, and later lived with her family in Bay Shore, Long Island, and Far Hills, New Jersey (among other locations). In her youth, Ms. Holt danced on roller skates in costumes she created. She continued to enjoy big band music and dancing throughout her life.

An excellent chef, she prepared many fabulous holiday feasts for her family. Ms. Holt was talented and accomplished in sewing, knitting, crocheting, and needlepoint. Her homemade dolls and teddy bears are treasured by family and friends.

She was a faithful member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, where she knitted many prayer shawls for the comfort of others. She was a true friend of her very dear canine companions, including Freckles, Tam O’Shanter, and her most beloved (and very feisty) Bogie. Ms. Holt is survived by her devoted daughter-in-law, Ann Holt; and by her cousins across the United States and in Wales, United Kingdom, who will always miss her wit and wisdom.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to SECU Hospice, 955 Mercy Lane, Bolivia, North Carolina 28422. Online condolences may be made at www.
