Mary’s Obituary Mary E. Furtaw, 95, of Marine City entered eternal life on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. She was born on January 22, 1923 in Marine City to the late Michael and Stella Furtaw. Mary held a long-standing career working at the Detroit Gasket Company for more than 30 years until her retirement.

When she wasn’t working Mary was active with the Holy Cross Church in Marine City, where she helped organize funeral luncheons. She also had a passion for traveling. Mary is survived by her Nieces and Nephews, Russell (Mary) Furtaw, Michael Furtaw, Lisa (Randy) Masters, Paul (Anita) Furtaw, and Helen (Gary) Blaisdel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Harold (Ruth) Furtaw, Walker (Ida Mae) Furtaw, and Howard (Joan) Furtaw; and a nephew, Gerry. A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00am with a visitation from 10:00am until the time of Mass in Our Lady on the River Parish, Holy Cross, Marine City. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Marine City.
