Mary Grimes, 88, of Boaz, Alabama died Sunday, March 24, 2019 at her residence. Funeral service will be Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the McRae Funeral Home Chapel with Bro Morris Stephens and Bro. Chris Herbert officiating.

Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Mrs. Grimes is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law Barney & Anita Grimes of Boaz, and Phillip & Jane Grimes of Boaz; daughter & son-in-law Dianne & James Patterson of Boaz; grandchildren Alan Grimes, Erin Grimes, Nicholas Patterson, and Hilary Grimes; great-grandchildren Ragen Lang, Cooper Grimes, Elliot Grimes, Eli Denney, Hadley Seay, Mabrey Seay, Emmy Lou Patterson.

She is preceded in death by her husband James Grimes, brother Paul Vandergriff, sister Barbara McNair, parents Oliver & Grace Vandergriff. Pallbearers will be Alan Grimes, Nick Patterson, David Seay, Richard Grimes, Andy Grimes, Roger Whitehead, and Olan Grimes. Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the Boaz Senior Center.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Shepherd’s Cove Hospice.
