Obituary for Mary Inez Young Mary Inez Young, 80, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin, Georgia after a long illness. A long-time resident of Van, West Virginia, Mary had been visiting with her much loved grandson this summer, Brian, when she became too ill to return home. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Allie and Lucille Kerby.

Known by her childhood friends and family as Pattie, she was a civil war history enthusiast, enjoyed basket weaving, and watching old western shows. Mary is survived by her daughter, Deana Johnson, of Stephens City, Virginia, her son Mark Young (Nickie), of Hampton, Virginia, her grandson and recent caretaker, Brian Rohrenbach of Peachtree City, Georgia, her granddaughter, Laura Kelly (Roger), of Stephens City, Virginia, a brother, Harold Kerby (Sherry) of Parkersburg, West Virginia, and sister, Tammy Estrada (Rico) of Savannah, Georgia. Her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren all affectionately call her Granny.

The family would also like to express special appreciation to Mary’s neighbors, Tom and Kathy Brown also of Van, for their attention and support over a long interval. Graveside services will be held at 11am on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Boone Memorial Park, Madison, West Virginia. Arrangements by Handley Funeral Home, Danville, West Virginia.
