Mary Jane Taylor, 93, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed away Monday, November 12, 2018. Born November 28, 1924, in Pittsburg, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Grant Louis and Ruth Kemp Pistorius. Mary Jane graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Bacteriology from the University of Kansas where she met the love of her life, Gerald Taylor.

Mary Jane was a member of the board of Wesley Community Centers and Atlanta Council of Camp Fire Girls. Other activities included Public Health Service Women’s Club and Sargent Hills Garden Club. In addition, she enjoyed playing Bridge, reading, gardening and spending time with her family.

Mary Jane is survived by her children, Carolyn Miller and her husband, George, Vincent Taylor and his wife, Cande, Greg Taylor and his wife, Amy, and Jane Ellen Taylor; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two nephews; a niece; and many more loving friends. In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Clark Taylor; and brother, John Pistorius. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018, at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home, Decatur.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17, at North Decatur United Methodist Church, 1523 Church Street, Decatur, with interment to follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Tucker. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), www. umcor.org.
