Sister Mary Jeanette “Punkin” Thompson was born June 26th, 1943 in Enterprise, AL. She was born and raised by Mary Frances and James Thomas Scott who proceeded her in death. The grand daughter of Sherman and Mazie Brown both deceased.

“Punkin” as she was affectionately called was baptized at an early age and later in life join the Christian Faith Fellowship Temple in Ozark, AL, where Bishop William Martin is the minister. She remained a faithful christian at Christian Faith Fellowship Temple until her passing away at home from a brief illness on Monday, November 19th, 2018. She attended the Coffee County System and attended MacArthur Technical School in Opp, AL for barbering.

She met and married Leon Thompson, Sr., a military man in 1959 and four children were born to this union until the death of her husband in 1968. Three additional children were later added to the family. Mary Jeannette leaves to cherish her loving memory a life long friend Arling Tindal, Enterprise, AL; 4 sons: Leon Thompson, Jr. (Josephine) Hoover, AL; Christopher Thompson (Penny) Jacksonville, FL; Kevin Thompson Enterprise, AL; Shermilla Hester (Ted), Radcliff KY; 2 daughters that proceeded her in death: Tonia and Devina Thompson and 1 sister: Caroline Chambers.

She has 2 brothers: Damon Thompson and Lawrence “Ted” Thompson (Dot), Hartford, AL and 3 sisters: Ira “Pat” Brown, Jane Scott-Sargent and Jean Brown(Willie) all from Enterprise, AL. God blessed Jeannette “Gigi” with a host of grand children, great grand children and great great grand children.
