Mary Kathry Winingham , December 26, 1938 — February 20, 2018

Obituary for Mary Kathryn Winingham (Applegate) Mary Kathryn (Applegate) Winingham, 79 of Solomon, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018. She was born December 26, 1938, in Peru, Nebraska, the daughter of Earl and Kathryn (Briggs) Applegate. Mary was first and foremost always a dedicated mother and grandmother.

Family always came first weather it was her children, siblings or grandchildren. She was a housewife until 1974 when she went to work for Billy Devalt at Deluxe Cleaners in Pratt, Kansas and worked in the dry cleaning business until she retired in 2003. Mary moved to Solomon in 2003 and shared the home with Dan and Kath Winingham where she made many dear and loving friends.

She remained in the home until her death from a long battle with cancer. Mary was a member of the Eastern Star in Brownville, Missouri, a member of the Yoked Presbyterian Church and the UMW Yoked Parish of Solomon. Mary is survived by her children; Dan Winingham (Kathy) of Solomon, Terry Winingham (Mandi) of Springfield, Missouri, Gary Winingham (Mike) of Omaha, Nebraska and Becky Martin (Michael) of St. Louis, Missouri.

Six grandchildren and Eight great-grandchildren. One brother; Fred Applegate and wife Mary Ann of Louisville, Nebraska. Three sisters; Marilyn Coatney and deceased husband Boyd of Peru, Nebraska, Sue Eddy of Casper, Wyoming and Beth Moxley of Denver, Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two grandsons, Jeff Winingham and Robby Orton. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M., Friday, February 23, 2018 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Solomon with Father John Wolesky as Celebrant and Pastor Tom Reid. Parish Rosary will be 4:00 P.M., Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the Church.

Mary will be buried at Mt. Vernon cemetery in Peru, Nebraska on Saturday, where there will be a service held at 11:30 A.M., Saturday, February 24 at the Peru Community Church with Pastor Ray and Becky Girard officiating. The family of Mary suggests memorials be given to the Hospice of Dickinson County.
