Obituary for Eva M Hobday Eva M. Hobday 58 of Abilene passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Abilene. She was born July 15, 1959 in Rodach, Germany, the daughter of Helmut and Anneliese Swoboda. She grew up in Germany, attended the local schools and received her CNA.

Eva worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Memorial Hospital in Abilene for 16 years where she was well respected and loved by her co-workers. She enjoyed caring for others and always left a lasting impression with her patients and their families throughout her years working at Memorial Hospital. Eva is survived by her two brothers: Helmut Swoboda and Bodo Swoboda.

Two sisters: Jutta Seewald and Doris Volker and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Services for Eva will be 10:30 A.M., Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Community Bible Church in Abilene with Pastor Lindsey Brummer officiating.

In support of Eva’s two favorite teams, (Denver Broncos and Kansas State Wildcats) friends are asked to wear orange or purple. A private inurnment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M., until Service time on Thursday at the Church.

Friends may come by Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 9:00 A.M, until 9:00 P.M., to sign the book at Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Home Health & Hospice of Dickinson County or to the Elsie Brooks Cancer Fund. Memorials may be dropped off or mailed to Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW Third St., Abilene, Kansas 67410.
