Selby, Mary Elizabeth (Long), age 102 of Franklin passed away January 11, 2019 at Spring Hill Nursing Home. She was born in Middletown, OH to the late Floyd and Martha (Havens) Long. Mary lived most of her life in the Germantown/Middletown area and was married to Glen Selby in 1939.

Together they enjoyed gardening, traveling, and baseball. After Glen’s death in 1990 Mary enjoyed taking bus trips to area casinos with her sister, nieces and cousins. Mary worked at various places including Madison City Schools, Germantown Bank, Dr. Berks office and Southard Insurance in Germantown.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers Stanley (Dortha) Long, Sterling (Mildred) Long, Edwin (Anita) Long, Paul (Marylou) Long, sisters Della Long, Stella (Forest) Moyer, Sarah (Harold) Johnson, and Dora (Jack) Kirby. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. The family would like to thank Spring Hills Nursing Home and Hospice of Dayton for their wonderful care of Mary, as well as the Hospice Visitor, Chris.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 7:00PM at the Arpp, Root & Carter Funeral Home, 29 N Main St. Germantown with Misty McGarry officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 5:00PM. Interment will be private at Germantown Union Cemetery.
