Mary’s Obituary Dateline: McKenzie, TN Services for Mary Lou Barksdale, 91, will be held Monday, January 21, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home with Brother Dennis Trull officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 21, 2019 from 10:00 am until service time. Mrs. Barksdale, a secretary for Nicky Joe Stafford Real Estate and a former office worker at Wilker Brothers Pajama Company, died Saturday, January 19, 2019 at McKenzie Healthcare Center. She was born on March 14, 1927 in McKenzie, Tennessee to Loyse Roscoe and Doris C. Huffman Miller.

She was a member of McKenzie First Baptist Church, and was in the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post #4939. She was preceded in death by her husband Willard Barksdale who died in 2002, her parents, a daughter Penny Knott, a granddaughter Shelby Barksdale, a grandson Brad Barksdale, three brothers Roscoe Miller, James Miller, and George Smith. Survivors include a daughter Jennifer (Tim) Waldrup of McKenzie, two sons Billy (Tressia) Barksdale of Springville, TN, Mark (Ann) Barksdale of McKenzie, a sister Charleen Parker of McKenzie, four grandchildren David Barksdale, Marty Morris, Shane Barksdale, and Shay Barksdale, and ten great grandchildren.

Pallbearers who will be serving are: Joe Parker, David Barksdale, Marty Morris, Mike Brewer, Shane Barksdale, and Shay Barksdale. The family has asked to please consider memorials may be made to McKenzie Memorial Library 15 Broadway, McKenzie, TN 38201. Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
