Mary Lou Cannan, 75, of La Porte, passed away peacefully at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Golden Living Center, La Porte. She was born April 28, 1943, in La Porte, Indiana, to Joseph and Josephine (Kowalczk) Baima. Mary retired as a unit secretary from La Porte Hospital after 35 years of service.

Surviving are her children, Bonnie (Thomas Odle) Redmon of La Porte, Teresa (Richard) Kennedy of Hillsdale, MI, Leonard Cannan and Margaret Ann Cannan both of La Porte; one sister, Jo Ann Richey of La Porte; two brothers, Joseph Baima of Kingsford Heights and Anthony (Beverly) Baima of Union Mills; ten grandchildren, Alex (Kaitlynn) Redmon, Ashley Odle, Jared and Megan Kennedy, Austin (Chelsea) Cannan, Kayla Cannan, Kara (Nicky) Liburd, Tabitha (Thomas) Ingram, Zachary Nolan, Jeremy (Marissa) Zavacky; ten great grandchildren, Lincoln Meeks, Elijah Kennedy, Triniti, Alyssa and Otto Cannan, Zaniyah Bunch, Aleenah Cloyd, Jayden Anderson, Ryder Ingram and Paisley Zavacky. Preceding in death were her parents; and the children’s father, Leonard George Cannan. A funeral celebrating her life will be held at 5 p.m., Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd.

, La Porte (219) 362-3100 with Pastor James Bouslog officiating. Visitation and viewing will be from 4 p.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery at a later date.
