OBITUARY Mary M Peterson May 26, 1940 – July 16, 2018 Mary Margaret Peterson was born in Barnwell, Sc. She moved to New York City where she met her husband Maurice Peterson. They were married 33 years before he passed away.

While in New York City she held many jobs but her favorite job was fostering children. She became a foster parent in 1985. The following year she won a Foster Parent of the Year Award.

During her time of fostering children she became momma to more kids than I can count. Not only did the children love her but their parents loved her as well. Her very first foster children, Sheniqua and Johnathan stayed in touch with her from childhood to adulthood, over 30 years.

Momma had the biggest heart and showed love and kindness to everyone. Her motto was “Don’t treat people how they treat you but treat them how you want to be treated” those are words she truly lived by . She leaves behind to cherish her memory – Sons; Mr. Lynn Jones, George Peterson,Bequan Peterson, Daughters; Melody Jones, Beatrice Peterson, Shameeka Jones, Ayesha Saunders, Great Grandson, Mickell Saunders.

Also Sheniqua Roper and Johnathan Roper, and tons of nieces and nephews.
