OBITUARY Mary Marjorie Barnes June 28, 1930 – September 20, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Mary Marjorie Barnes, of Bon Air, passed away on September 20, 2018 at home surrounded by her family. She was the widow of Dewey Elson Barnes Jr. and they shared 30 years of marriage. She was born in Norfolk, Virginia and was a loving homemaker.

In later years, she enjoyed working outside of the home. She was a faithful member of Bon Air Baptist Church and the Fidelis Grace Class. She participated in many church activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ryland and Cynthia Barnes; a brother, Ray Barnes; and a sister, Nellie Gustafson. She is survived by her children, Hunter Barnes (Cathy) and Christie Beam (Warren); grandchildren, Carrie Loudy (Kevin), Ryan Barnes (Emilie), Laura Stem (David), and Sara Wingert (Tim); great-grandchildren, Arden Loudy, Jack Stem, and Ella Wingert; sister, Vivian Broun (Kenneth); brother, Edward Barnes (Carolyn); among a host of other nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Rhoda Elliott and Sheryl Newton, her devoted and loving caregivers, and her doctor, Dr. William Harrington.

The family will receive friends at Woody Funeral Home, Huguenot Chapel on Sunday, September 23 from 2-3 PM, where a funeral service will be held at 3 PM. A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, VA on Monday, September 24 at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bon Air Baptist Church.
