Funeral services for Mrs. Mary R. Franks, 92, of Jefferson, Texas will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday October 28, 2018 at Jefferson Academy SDA Church in Jefferson, Texas with Reverend John Taylor officiating under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. Saturday October 27, 2018 at Haggard Funeral Home. Mrs. Franks passed away peacefully on October 25, 2018 in Jefferson, Texas surrounded by family and friends.

Mary Franks was born August 17, 1926 in Maypearl, Texas to Hattie Velma Young and Lawrence Victor Irvin. She was a sweet and kind woman that was loved by many. Her greatest passion was working with children and served many years in childhood development.

She cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. She was a member of the Jefferson Central SDA Church.

Preceding Mrs. Franks in death were her parents; husband of 46 years, Albert Warren Franks; daughter, Paula Daniels and sister, Jo Ann Denson. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Gabbard and husband Roger of Cooper, Texas; son, Mark Franks and wife Pam of Elkhart, Texas; son, Mac Franks of Jefferson, Texas; daughter, Kay Jean Smith and husband Randy of Jefferson, Texas; sister, Weeksie Nora; brother, Lawrence Victor Irvin, Jr; brother, Thomas Earl Irvin; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
