Obituary for Mary Violet Kelley Mary Violet Kelley, age 92, of Erwin, passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018, at the Center on Aging and Health. A native of Dante, VA, Violet is a daughter of the late Archibald and Mary (Biggs) Elam. She was a member of Ninth Street Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking and gardening.

In addition to her parents, Violet is preceded in death by her husband: John Kelley; brothers: JW Elam, Dan Elam, Ted Elam, Lee Elam and Joe Elam; sisters: T. Lane and Shirley Necessary. Mary Violet Kelley leaves behind to cherish her memory: Sons: John C. Kelley and wife, Sue, of Erwin, Frank Kelley, of Erwin; Daughter: Susie Swinehart and husband, Greg, of Erwin; Sister: Kaye Harr and husband, Sam, of Blountville; Granddaughters: Missy Whitehead and husband, Benji, of Elizabethton, Sharon Miles, of Charlotte, NC, Karen Key and husband, Andy, of Seymore, TN; Great-grandchildren: Andra Miles, Violet Key. The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Mary Violet Kelley in a committal service to be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 17, 2018 in Evergreen Cemetery.

Ed Manfull will officiate. Those attending will meet at Evergreen Cemetery by 10:50 AM for the service. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family and viewed at www.
