Mary W. Anderson, 83, of Amarillo passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018. Services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 26 at the First United Methodist Church in Canyon. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 P.M. at Littlefield Memorial Park in Littlefield.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 25 from 5:30 to 7:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. Mary was born on May 26, 1935 in Sudan, Texas to Beyrl and Mildred Fowler Wingo. She graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with a bachelor’s degree in Education.

On June 21, 1957, she married Kenneth W. “Andy” Anderson in Muleshoe. They were married for more than 60 years until his passing in March of 2018. She taught school for over 20 years and then worked in the communications office at West Texas A&M University and for the Randall County Extension Office.

She loved reading, painting and calligraphy. Most of all, she loved taking care of her family. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Bob Wingo and sister, Linda Lane.

Survivors include her four children, Suzanna Trent and husband Richard, Samuel Dirk Anderson and wife Julissa, Melissa Montandon and husband Todd, and Todd Anderson and wife Stephanie; eight grandchildren, Brandon and Jacob Trent, Mitchell Anderson and wife Kami, and Dawson Anderson, Lilly and Sam Montandon, and Keevyn and Macey Anderson; and brother, Jim Wingo and wife Barbara. The family suggests memorials be made to Harrington Cancer Center, 1600 Wallace Blvd. , Amarillo, TX 79106.
