Obituary for Matilda M Vigil Matilda “Tillie” Vigil, 80, of Las Cruces, NM entered eternal rest Thursday, November 8, 2018 in San Antonio TX. She was born on August 7, 1938, in Vallecitos, NM to Mr. and Mrs. Adolfo Martinez. She met Philip Vigil in Santa Fe NM where they were married on August 6, 1955.

Matilda enjoyed going on picnics, going to White Sands and playing football with her children. She loved all her children and grandchildren very much. She is survived by her sister Margaret Garcia, her brother Jose Martinez; her daughter, Teresa Apodaca of San Antonio TX; five sons, Johnny, Philip, Leo, Leroy and Michael Vigil, all of Las Cruces NM; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Carla Vigil; husband Philip Vigil; brother Eli Martinez and sister Emilia Benavidez. A rosary will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 6:30 pm at Getz Funeral Home, followed by a mass on Friday November 30, 2018 at 10 AM at St. Genevieve’s Catholic Church. Arrangements are with Getz Funeral Home 1410 E. Bowman Ave.
