Matthew’s Obituary Matthew Nathanial Meichsner, age 24 years, 6 months, and 4 days passed away suddenly at his family home in Plymouth from a heart attack on Saturday, January 19th, 2019. He was born July 15th, 1994 at Unity Hospital in Fridley, MN. Matthew was a 2013 graduate from Robbinsdale Armstrong High School and a 2016 graduate of the Robbinsdale Transitional Plus Program.
He had type 1 Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy with mild to moderate cognitive developmental delays but Matthew was smarter than most gave him credit for. Matthew was preceded in death by his dad, Nathanial Meichsner; grandma, Margaret (Peggi) (Rivard) Lindee; great-grandparents, Wilfred & Margaret Rivard (Schulte), Ervin & Helen Otterstetter (Dewald), Arvid & Vivian Lindee Koecher (Walker), Huebert (Mike) Meichsner, Esther Marie (Heuchert) Meichsner, Stewart Johnson, many any other family members and friends welcoming Matthew to his forever home in Heaven in God’s loving arms where we will all be together again one day. Matthew is survived by his mom, Sandra Meichsner; sister, Heather Meichsner; mom’s significant other, Ryan Carlson; grandma, Pamela (Johnson) & Bill Asplin; grandpas, Carl Lindee , Derold Otterstetter, David (Lorraine) Meichsner, Douglas (Laura) Hoffmann; great-grandma, Gloria Johnson (Chizek); aunts, Koren Lindee, Erin Lindee, Kathryn Grubaugh, Jessica Krause, Faith Asplin, Grace Asplin; uncles, Quincy (Sarah) Lindee, Charles Lindee, Mark (Kelly) Hoffmann, Will (Heather) Asplin and many other family members and friends that will miss Matthew forever until we are together again.
Matthew loved his movies and would watch them one right after another. He recited lines to his favorite ones with his kitty’s, Misty & Benji right by his side. He also loved Marvel and Dc Comics, Yu-Gi-OH & Pokemon Cards, a good Uno or War card game, air hockey, bumper cars and bowling.
Chicken nuggets, dill pickle chips, broccoli and Dr. Pepper were some of his favorite foods and drink. Matthew was a very happy, easy going young man. When talking, one of his favorite words was “right”.
He would end almost every sentence with the word “right” giving him the nickname right, right man. I know one thing that is right is that he is in God’s loving arms free from all pain and imperfection. He is all perfect now and will be loved and remembered by all the lives that are forever touched by our memories of Matthew.
