Obituary of Maureen Weems Maureen Weems “Grandma”, 72, of Wallingford Passed away peacefully on February 5, 2019 with her loved ones by her side. She was the beloved wife of James Weems for 52 years. Maureen was born in Meriden, CT on September 20, 1946 to the late John and Shirley (Williams) Carroll.

In addition to her husband James, she is survived by her son James Weems, Jr. and daughter-in-law Michelle Weems; two grandsons Mason and Devin Weems. She grew up in Wallingford, graduated from Lyman Hall high school and then went on to graduate from UCONN to become a physical therapist. She loved helping others and enjoyed working as a physical therapist until she retired.

Maureen enjoyed spending time with family and most of all her two grandsons. If she wasn’t on the ocean you could always find her at the dock on her boat during the summer months enjoying life. Maureen was a kind soul who only saw the good in everyone she met.

She will be missed dearly and kept alive in our hearts. The family is truly appreciative for her caregivers, staff and hospice nurse at Masonic Health Center for all their compassion. Fmily and friends may call on Friday, February 15, 2019 from 4pm to 6pm at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm Street, Wallingford.
