Maurice Blinderman Colchester- Maurice N. Blinderman, 81, of Colchester, formerly of Waterford, died October 18, 2018 in Colchester. He was born January 13, 1937 in Norwich, the son of Sydney and Tessie Weinberg Blinderman. He was the husband of Gertrud Galgenmayer who predeceased him April 12, 2012.

Mr. Blinderman was the third-generation owner of R. Blinderman Motor Lines, Inc He was a member of the Waterford Police Commission for over 20 years; Active in Waterford politics for many years including Chairman of Planning and Zoning, the RTM and the Democratic Town Committee. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Shriners.

He was a former Connecticut State Marshall. He had also maintained a residence in West Palm Beach, FL and Acorn Acres Campground in Bozrah. He is survived by a son Robert Blinderman (Holly) of Gales Ferry; two daughters, Bonnie Bruun (Barry) of Colchester, Michelle Blinderman (Raymond Davis) of New Haven.

He has a sister Naomi Eisenstein of Murrieta, CA. ; six grandchildren, Amanda Card, Adam Blinderman, Brandon Bruun, Brian Bruun, Kevin Jones, Meagan Jones; two great grandchildren, Evan Card and Finn Blinderman. The funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, Oct.

28, 2018 at 1 PM at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Ave. , New London. Interment will be in Hebrew Benevolent Cemetery #2 in Preston.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Attn: Office of Development, 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
