Obituary for Maxine C. Spatafora Maxine C. Spatafora of Harvey, Louisiana, passed away at the age of 77 on Thursday, January 10, 2019 in Marrero, Louisiana. Maxine is the loving wife of Anthony J. Spatafora. They were married for 53 years.

She is survived by her son, Joey Spatafora of Washington, DC; her sister, Carolyn Wanchisn (Jeff) of Davenport, Florida; and her sister-in-law, Gayle Champon. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Maxine is preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Maxine Spatafora; her brothers, Rodney Champon and Marcel “Mickey” J. Champon, Jr. and her parents, Marcel J. Champon and Vivian Champagne Champon.

Maxine played basketball for Sacred Heart High School in New Orleans. She was a Math Typist for Tulane University and after raising a family, she returned to Tulane as the Administrative Assistant to the Director of the Honors Program. Maxine was a prolific bowler in a San Jose Bowling League, a devout Catholic and showed a special dedication to the Blessed Mother.

She was an active parishioner at St. Cletus Catholic Church. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Cletus Catholic Church, 3600 Claire Avenue, Gretna, LA on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 10:30AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Cletus Catholic Church on Tuesday at 11AM.

Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Family and friends may offer condolences at mothefunerals.com.
