OBITUARY Meg Rodgers February 23, 1944 – October 29, 2018 Mary Margaret (Meg) Rodgers, 74, of Township of Washington, NJ, passed away Monday, Oct. 29, at Villa Marie Claire, a hospice facility in Saddle River, NJ. Born in Albany, GA.

, to Dr. John and Mary (Baker) O’Brien, she was raised in Scranton, PA, where she was graduated from the former Cathedral High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at a number of hospitals, including Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, New York City; Maternity Hospital, San Diego, CA, and Helene Fuld Medical Center, Trenton, NJ. She later studied interior design and worked for a time in that field.

Meg was married in 1967 at Immaculate Conception Church, Scranton, PA to Hugh J. Rodgers Jr. The couple lived in Chula Vista, CA. ; Reading, PA. ; Hightstown and Freehold, NJ, and Scranton before settling in Township of Washington 40 years ago.

Meg was active in her community as a member of the Contemporary Woman’s Club and Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church. She had many interests including floral arranging, traveling, and attending sports events. In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter, Maggie (John) White, of Cobham, England; a son, Zeke (April) of Oradell, NJ.

, three brothers: John, Decatur, GA. ; Dr. Thomas, Jefferson Township, PA. , and Patrick (Anita), South Abington Township, PA.

; four sisters: Kay Draper, Margate, NJ; Chris Condon (Jack), Columbia, MD; Jane McLaughlin (Dick), Scranton, PA, and Sue Brink (Don), Moscow, PA. ; five grandchildren: Maloria, CorleyAnn and Mack Rodgers, and William and Grace White, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Joseph O’Brien.

Visitation is scheduled for 3 to 7PM on Friday, Nov. 2 at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ. The funeral will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church, 668 Ridgewood Road, Township of Washington, NJ at 10 AM on Saturday, Nov.

3. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Ganley Foundation, 6930 Longleaf Drive, Parkland, FL 33076.
