OBITUARY Suzanne Theresa Oates February 14, 1935 – December 17, 2018 Suzanne T. Oates, 83, of Emerson, NJ, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018 with her loving family by her side. She was born in the Bronx, NY to John and Rose McMahon. Beloved wife of James F. Oates, Sr. Devoted mother of Colleen Merkel and her husband Ronald, James F. Oates, Jr. and his wife Jean, Kerry Butkera and her husband Gary, and Tara Oates.

Dear sister of MaryLouise O’Hara. Loving grandmother of Mackenzie, Aidan, James, Kayla, Sean Patrick, Hunter and Tyler. She was an active member of the Rosarians, Red Hat Society and the Emerson Seniors.

Suzanne enjoyed dining out with her loving husband, bingo, Atlantic City and spending time with her grandchildren who loved her very much. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Thursday from 4-8PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating Suzanne’s life and faith will be held at Church of the Assumption, Emerson, NJ on Friday at 10AM.

Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
