Obituary for Melba J. Knight Melba J. Knight, 91, of Marville, formerly of Peoria. IL, died Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at Fairpark Transitional Care and Rehabilitation in Maryville. Melba was a member of First United Methodist Church in Maryville for many years.

Melba was born on July 30, 1926, in Vermont, IL, to Charles C. and Dorothy E. (Danner) Cox. She married Durwood M. Knight on April 14, 1951, in Peoria; he preceded her in death on October 7, 1985, in Peoria. IL She was also preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Ralph, Don, Merle, and Virgil “Murph” Cox.

Melba is survived by her daughter, Lynne A. Knight of Chicago; her son Rev. Keith G. and Nancy Knight of Madisonville; 2 grandsons, Joshua M. and Benjamin K. Knight; and many nieces and nephews. No local ceremonies are planned at this time.

Interment will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria, IL. Arrangements entrusted to Dotson Funeral Home, Wildwood. (865-984-5959).
