She was born on July 7, 1945 to Joseph and Anne Merchant Hollier in Port Arthur, TX. Melba and her loving husband Les have lived in the Mineola area for almost 25 yrs.

, having moved from Forest Hill near Ft. Worth. She was Assembly of God by faith and was a member of the 1st Assembly of God in Mineola.

Melba is survived by her husband Les; one daughter Leah Johnston and husband Michael of Arlington, TX. and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters Nancy and Molly.
