She was born on February 20, 1978 to David and Arlean White in Newport News, Virginia. Melody leaves to cherish her memory, her parents David and Arlean White; sister, Darlene Sanford (James); uncles, Sylvester Parham and Walter Murray; aunts, Ida Mae Parham (Genie Williams), Joanne Parham, Barbara White and Edna Mae White; Special friend, Christina Pittman and a host of loving relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m., Thursday, January 31, 2019 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home. On Wednesday at the funeral home, viewing will begin at 3:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Ms. White will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home on Thursday. O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
