Melvin E. Hartman Sr., 86, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Thursday December 27, 2018 at Ames Family Hospice in Westlake. He was born December 11, 1932 in Cleveland and was a long time resident of North Ridgeville. Melvin retired from the city of North Ridgeville, where he worked in city maintenance for 21 years.

In his off time, Melvin enjoyed wood working, fishing, tending to his vegetable plants, and bird watching. Melvin was also a member of the Moose Lodge, Sons of AMVETS, and the VFW. He is survived by; six children, Linda Blevins (Companion Jimmy Meadows) of Coal City, West Virginia, Nancy Johnson (John) of DeLeon, Texas, Melvin Hartman Jr. (Rita) of North Ridgeville, Deborah Raines (Peter) of Elyria, Mark Hartman of North Ridgeville, and Barbara Waite (Robert) of Clarksville, Tennessee; 15 Grandchildren; 19 Great Grandchildren; two Great-Great Grandchildren; and four sisters.

Melvin is preceded in death by his Parents Marquis and Florence Hartman; two brothers; and one sister. The family welcomes friends on Sunday December 30, 2018 from 10am until the time of the Memorial Service at 12pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd. , (at Stoney Ridge Rd.

), North Ridgeville.
