Melvin Henson, 89 of Colcord, Oklahoma, died January 27, 2019 at Northwest Medical Center, Springdale, Arkansas. Born October 9, 1929 in Adair County, Oklahoma he was the son of Ollie Jane Parris and was adopted by Pleas and Ellen Henson. Melvin married Nina Disney on October 10, 1949, and he worked for Jet Stream Plastics approximately 11 years and was a previous county commissioner for Adair County.

Melvin’s love was dairy farming. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, daughter Dove Riddle, two brothers Earl and Marvin Ford and one great granddaughter Jamie. Survivors include his children Donna Dareing and husband Jack of Elkins, Arkansas, Denise Wheeler and husband Doug of Westville, Oklahoma, Debra Carey and husband Mike of Springdale, Arkansas, Dale Henson and wife Marie of Colcord, Oklahoma and Dione Bennett and husband John of Gentry, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; sisters Patty Gibson of Dallas, Oregon, Wanda Rice of Oregon; brothers Harvey Ford of Scio, Oregon and Ron Ford of Corvallis, Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 31, 2019, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Burial will be at Johnson Cemetery, West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
